IRIS have partnered with a local software company who are looking to bring in an aspiring project manager. 

You will be responsible for providing the key interface between their customers and the internal software development team in order to ensure effective communication and delivery of defined software product development projects on time. The role requires outstanding project management, communication and leadership skills combined with the emotional intelligence to work across both their UK team and their offshore team in Asia.

As the project manager / client manager, you will handle a wide variety of different projects at any one time spanning a broad range of industries so must be able to adjust the frequency and style of communication to match the requirements of the client.

Knowledge Requirements: Project management – or a similar role which is transferable; ideally an understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile development practices.

Responsibilities, to include but not limited to: 
  • Create a strong and positive relationship with assigned clients.
  • Ensure a robust project plan created and managed for each specific client project, using internal process and project management tools. This includes: software development plan for the full lifecycle of the project.
  • Act as the ‘voice of the client’ to ensure that all key requirements are understood across internal departments.
  • Ensure effective and proactive communication with the client to ensure ‘no surprises’.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the Project ‘Coach’ and Business Analyst in the offshore team, and the UK based Business Analyst and Testers to ensure that any change requirements are clearly captured and communicated.
  • Assess any on-going requirements or opportunities to provide additional services to the client. i.e. support & maintenance, new projects.
  • Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions against the defined  Statement of Work for each project.
Essential Skills:
  • Passion to work as a project manager
  • Knowledge of project management terminology such as acceptance criteria 
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate across multiple stakeholders
  • General understanding and experience of key business processes, ideally within a digital / software development environment
  • Critical thinker with good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Proactive can-do attitude and strong commitment to delivery
  • Keenness to learn on the job and be curious
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately in order to maximise efficiency
